He told me today that he met again with the Frankes and he was encouraged. ``They told me what they want from me, and I told them what I need from them,'' he said. ``Now we're talking numbers.''
A decision will probably be made by Tuesday.
In other news, Hit, what's the deal? I leave you in charge and you take down the whole system! 97, hours Hit Somebody forced the system to crash with his numbers game!
Oh, well, I'm going back to counting 99 bottles of beer on the bar. Blake

Doubt it that man has done a poor job for years and still retains his position.
Possible these players have homes/community roots and gave their teams the "hometown discount" so their kids could stay in the same schools, their wives could keep their jobs etc?
Would paying for tuition at a private school for a players children be considered a violation of salary cap? or does this fall under a different area, such as housing for the players? I ask this since I am curious if perhaps some players have worked out a deal to have their kids enrolled at say a private or parochial school that is way better than the public schools in certain markets....I suppose it would play a factor in my decision if I had children.....but my "children" are the four legged variety.
Bouchard is a successful car salesman in Musk in the off season. I think one of the reasons he plays is to keep up his visibility.
the other site reported tonight that the ks have told neumiere hes not wanted back. sad, as he was one of the few who hit the lsast couple of years and always stepped it up for the playoffs. the ks need to find sponsors for their players. maybe skate can hire a few to make slushies. MAN!
I agree with Chuckitt on that point. The other teams seem to be doing a great job of finding employment opportunities for their players...are we doing the same for our guys? Seems like it would make sense...
If you guys remember right....during the season we all questioned Dickie's character in many instances regarding cheating on salaries, Danbury, free-agent signings, trade deadlines, and officiating. We were all told that old Dickie was great for this league and should be admired for the work he has done to make it what it is. Anyone still admire this piece of crap?
Who said this?
I think Richard Brosal and Brad Jones have incredible integrity.......
Super Fan? Do you know? LOL
Oh Dickie your so fine....Dickie, Dickie you blow my mind.....Hey Dickie!!!!!
This was his bio from this past season...wonder what it should say now:
The 2005-06 season marks the ninth full year the United Hockey League will be under the direction of President/C.E.O. Richard Brosal. The 46-year-old Southern California native joined the League in March 1997.
Brosal's tenure with the UHL has been extremely successful, as corporate sponsorship has grown by over 500 percent and the UHL's relationship with the National Hockey League (NHL) continues to flourish. His dedication and hard work has helped the league clean up and maintain its stellar reputation. He leads by example and utilizes a fair approach when establishing relationships with other leagues and facilitating league operations.
For 19 years prior to joining the United Hockey League, Brosal owned and operated many companies and did consulting work for organizations in need of strong management, marketing, sales and leadership qualities. He served as Vice President and Special Assistant to the C.O.O. of President Casinos, Inc. prior to assuming his position with the UHL.
Way to clean up things Dickie....funny how the Trashers helped "Clean" everything up for you. Splendid job Dickie Boy. We appreciate you helping out that "Stellar Reputation." Way to "lead by example and utilize your fair approach."
Great Job Dickie!!!!
Hit, you have WAY to much time on your hands...
Not really..LOL
Has anyone noticed that on Dickie's bio it makes no mention of having any kind of background in hockey....not even as a fan! It should tell you what you're getting for a CEO.
I honestly don't think he needs to be a hockey fan..I think he just has to have a clue on how to run a league/business, which we are all finding out, he doesn't have a clue...
Okay, back to the Komets for a moment, let's leave "tricky Dick" alone.
This mornings JG (and this is becuse your on vacation Blake) reports that Neumier is not getting a contract. Dupuis and Goodwin have been offered contracts, Goodwin is waiting to see what direction the team goes in before he signs. And the Frakes are having a problem getting in contact with Kevin Reiter. The Frankes are under the impression that Kevin does not want to play in Fort Wayne.
Comments anybody?
Word is Reiter wants to play somewhere where he is more likely to get a call-up. He seems to have a rather high opinion of himself, looking at his stats I think he should be happy to get an offer sheet.
Goodwin and Dupuis would be welcome additions in my opinion. Goody picked up some physical play last year and is always a scoring threat. I think Guy will be back, thats a no-brainer.
Hey, Greg, you could have at least provided a link to that story. lol.
Great, I get it from Blake when I read Justin's stuff, Now Justin is giving me grief for not providing the link. I can't win.
I Kid, I kid.
Actually I haven't figrued out that link thing yet.
My opinions..
Troy leaving.. it was time. He showed his age near the end of last year. Either he doesn't have much left or he needs a new challenge to regenerate him.
Reiter..His stats are kind of like Scott Hay. Because of the horrible team last year his numbers don't look good but he was their best player many nights. This could explain why they went back to Frenchy. It could of course be coincidence. I know that management learned from that revolving door goalie problem at the beginning of last year. Maybe they are high on the other goalie they picked up in the draft?
Goodwin...suprises me but I am ok with it. I think he took a step backwards last year (along with most of the team) but he is young and a new coach with new ideas and new linemates I think would bring him around.
Why would Blake kid you about reading the other paper? Most of this town does.
Blake tore me a new one when I mentioned something on Justin's blog one time. He was joking but I like to ribb him every once in a while.
I think you can take Blake and I have no idea what you look like Greg.
is this thing broke again...
I didn't do it this time....
Goodwin took a step back because he wasn't playing on the Chaulk, Venedam line anymore.
I seen last night on the newschannel 15 that Frenchy and the Komets are very close on working out a deal..
Goody still had a good year...i mean 70 pts 32 goals..I'd kill for those numbers..
On tv last night they said that the club and Dupuis were far apart on a contract and that Frenchy was in the same boat with Dupuis...that was from 21 newscast
I dunno, one news says one thing, another says something else..i have no idea what to believe...
