From an ECHL press release
Mitchell Heard of the Fort Wayne Komets is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Nov. 3-9.
The Lake Erie Monsters have sent forward Garrett Meurs and defenseman Gabriel Beaupre to the Komets. Meurs, 5-11, 172 pounds, was scoreless in three games with Lake Erie, and Beaupre, 6-2, 196, was scoreless in four games.

Notice for all teachers, or parents who can let their teachers know: For the second year in a row, Komets Kare Package will be collecting letters from school children to send in the care packages we distribute to service men and women overseas. I'm bringing this up now because Veterans Day is approaching and maybe that might inspire some of the children. Last year we collected over 400 letters, and we'd like to at the very least hit that again. You can send your collection of letters to Blake Sebring, The News-Sentinel, 600 W. Main St., Fort Wayne, IN 46802.
