You might be very, very happy in about two hours.
There are two new blogs on The News-Sentinel site for you to enjoy. The first is Pete DiPrimio's on Notre Dame football at: notredamenotes.blogspot.com and the second is from Reggie Hayes on the Colts at coltsconnection.blogspot.com. Pete's is up and running and Reggie's will be up soon if it isn't already.
Boy, you want to talk about too much political talk, both of those will be FULL of hot air.
Not hockey related, but far more important and it's something that drives me crazy.

MCWHINNEY SIGNS PRO DEAL |

When the Komets announce the signing of Pascal Morency tomorrow, which I fully expect them to do, will that help alleviate some of your fears about team toughness? That gives them two guys, along with Bruce Richardson, who will fight with anybody. To my thinking, that's two guys to build on and allow the Komets to take their time finding the right superheavyweight. They probably still need one more, but those are two very good pieces to start which who can both play a regular shift as well. I think they are probably still looking for a big, bruising defenseman and an extra forward type.
Gosh, where did we hear this first I wonder?
I could not be more happier for Bruce. He's worked very hard for this opportunity and he'll do a great job. It's the perfect spot for him because he knows the area, the team and he's a winner. He's going to be a great coach in this league.
Congratulations Rammer!
Komets General Manager David Franke said discussions with Pascal Morency are going well. The team is close to signing defenseman A.J. Bozoian and a rookie goaltender, possibly to be announced Thursday, and Matt Elich has turned down the Komets' final offer and will likely play in Italy.
As for the rumors with Chaulk, he is prohibited under UHL rules of coming back any time this season because he has started the season in Europe. So, let's please move on to different rumors.
From Komets GM David Franke:
* They are hoping to get 25 goals off the second line from Voorhees who is supposed to be a great locker room guy who can fly and has a pretty decent shot.
* O'Connell is supposed to be a very good skater who didn't play last year because of an inner ear problem.
* They can't come close to matching what Mario Larocoque wants so he won't be here this year. Franke said he's asking for $2,000 a week which is what he made last year in Danbury.
