Justin Cross is retiring.
Sean O'Connor is likely to sign in the ECHL with Wheeling.
Justin Hodgman is going to sign with Rockford of the AHL.
Rick Varone is still deciding.
There's another BIG surprise coming next week. I'm not giving any hints other than that, so don't ask.
Also, I don't do this very often, but I think those of you who do not buy the paper or read anything other than Komets stories might get a lot out of reading this story, My Daddy Played Wildcat, Too. This is one very special little boy who has inspired me.

Thanks for the answer, I can't put a line-up out with out benching a name player.
They (The IHL) changed the veteran rule to 8 for the coming season. I got that from reading Blakes blog and his stories on the IHL League meetings. It helps if you read the paper. Blake would like all of us to do that. It has something to do with "Job Security" if you know what I mean?
Right now I have Schrock (175 PIM in 50 games in NAHL), Rodger, and Haun in my projected line-up as rookies. If Tarantino comes back he could fit onto the Defense as a rookie....or maybe one of the other rookies we have in Woodard or Laise crack the line-up? There still may be a handful of rookies coming into camp, and maybe 1 or 2 are diamonds.....
Thanks stat-guy....I all ready said 8 vets if you read his blog....LOL
I had forgotten about the rookie rule....but found it on the IHL site.
I heard the camp could have as many as 30 to 35 guys hoping to land a spot. My guess and (it is a guess) there will be numerous rookies. We all know Al Sims has away of finding very good ones. It is best to wait until camp to put lines together. I have never been very good at fantasy hockey, but than you folks already know that.
I really cannot see any of the early signed players not making the team, can anyone else? Really, there are only a handful of spots for 10 or so guys to fight for if that many come into camp. The other thing is, maybe some of the guys that don't make our roster go to Evansville and we could call on them when needed. That is the luxury of bringing Evansville on board this season, gives us a chance to evaluate more players and keep them in our system.
Super Fan....
Check this out....!!!
This is crazy.

So much for geographical footprint and financial sense. Where was Daddy-Deep Pockets when the Wings were in the IHL?
Yeah, daddy-deep pockets (as Hit affectionatly names him...lol) will put alot of money into this team to boost numbers in hopes that it will help him secure the tax dollars he wants to put up that new stadium in downtown K-zoo... In the long run, I am happy that the K-wing fans are gonna see some money and effort put into thier team and get the same type of satisfaction that the K's fans have been enjoying for some time now....
What about Frank Littlejohn ?
Another veteran is Frank Littlejohn. No thanks!
Littlejohn is a cancer.
Our team has no need for him.
JR.....maybe.....maybe not. Spending money doesn't always equate success. It is a start, but if they suck this year as a team and have no rivalries like the fans used to enjoy in FW, PH, and Musky, then this whole thing is dumb. Maybe it is great and they pack the house. If they lose often and aren't entertaining, then this whole thing migh back-fire.
Daddy-Deep Pockets on a spending spree or not.
so much for the echl giving their newest jewel a break right off the bat!!!!!!!!!!!!hahahaha watch those dollars go down the drain....
Wow. They sure are going an awfully long way to lose. You've got to admire their optimism with that "If history were to repeat itself..." part. Or laugh yourself silly. One of the two. Polar Bears like K-wings. They're crunchy and good with ketchup. :D So I guess now their fans aren't going to see any preseason games either. They are already shut out of the entire first week of the regular season unless they are prepared to make a "little" road trip to Trenton and Reading. Yeah, I can really see where the ownership has the best interests of the fans at heart.
