Auger goes on 14-day IR

He suffered another concussion Tuesday in Bloomington.

The Komets are skating with nine forwards tonight because they want to activate Tom Mele off IR and he'll be eligible on Sunday.

Gems make a trade before tonight's game

Dayton has acquired former CHL Rookie of the Year David Nimmo from Arizona for future considerations. The release doesn't mention when Nimmo is expected to play for the Gems.

Robin Richards is still on suspension and does not wish to report to the Gems.

Kelly Miller approaching milestone

He's playing career game No. 499 tonight and No. 500 tomorrow night. He needs eight points for 250 in his 11-year pro career. He's playing with the Danbury Whalers of the Federal Hockey League and has 10 goals and 22 points in 19 games this year. The team is in last place with a 1-17-6 record.

Boucher named GOM

The Central Hockey League announced today that Fort Wayne's -sentinel.com%26u=4071%26s=605%26t=url%26d=http%253A%252F%252Fwww.pointstreak.com%252Fprostats%252Fplayerpage.html%253Fplayerid%253D1536467%2526amp%253Bseasonid%253D7599" target="_blank">Nick Boucher has been named the Sher-Wood Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Month for December/2011.  Boucher will receive a Sher-Wood/CHL logoed watch courtesy of Sher-Wood and the Central Hockey League to recognize his accomplishment.

Billy Elvis will no longer work Komets games

After he was arrested  early Jan. 1 and charged with drinking and driving and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, local radio personality Billy Elvis will no longer serve as the Komets' fill-in in-house crowd announcer, Komets Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Scott Sproat said Wednesday night.

Elvis, who's real name is Christopher Durkee, has filled in for regular in-house announcer Wade Weaver on several times during recent seasons.
