Oh, please. If you just get mad, you have a bad temper. But if you get mad -- unreasonably so -- often enough, you can have Intermittent Explosive Disorder, your very own disease:
People who had three such episodes within the space of one year - a more narrowly defined subgroup - were found to have a much more persistent and severe disorder, particularly if they attacked both people and property. The latter group caused 3.5 times more property damage than other violent IED sub-groups. Affecting nearly 4 percent of adults within any given year - 5.9-8.5 million Americans - the disorder leads to a mean of 43 attacks over the course of a lifetime and is associated with substantial functional impairment.
Maybe they ought to call it the Bobby Knight Syndrome. Three episodes in a year? That would include just about everybody but Mother Theresa and the Dali Lama. This is the best new disesase since "cultural psychosis" and "sex addiction" to explain bad behavior one does not want to take personal responsibility for.

Gee....another spin on the IED thing...who'da thought?
Perhaps a "subliminal" way to turn people away from the war in Iraq???
Improvised Explosive Device - Intermittent Explosive Disorder...
That's too weird a coincedence.
Tell that to the carpenters that hit their thumbs MORE than merely 3 times a year....
Ladies of America...do NOT marry woodworkers...LOL!
Still...it IS nice to know that all this "grant" money to think up crap like this is in abundance.
Now...if only *I* could get a grant to study why all these OTHER people get grant monies and I can't.
...uh, oh...another "syndrome":
Perpetual Conundrum Disorder

Millions of people crack their knuckles.
This must surely be a sign of some sort of disorder/disease. We'll sell them colorful pills to fix the problem - of course they'll have to take the medication indefinitely or else the cracking will come back. All we need is a fancy drug name now. Of course after we fleece the masses some charlatan will come along, copy our drug and sell it as a generic...
Another such malady which affects millions of Americans but is very rarely diagnosed correctly is Optirectosis.
A relatively common disorder whereby ones optic nerve becomes crossed with ones rectal nerve, thus giving them a really "crappy" outlook on life.
Which is NOT to be confused in ANY way with:
Cranial-Rectal Inversion!

Leo,
Recovering sex addicts do take responsibility for their bad behavior. SA.ORG is a great place for addicts to start.
