Date with destiny

OK, let met get this straight. This is the year 2006, correct? So even if we call it 2006 A.D. (Anno Domini, the year of our lord) or 2006 C.E. (Common Era), our calendar is still based on what it has always been based on. We still mark our time as being before or after the birth of Christ, however imperfect our understanding of when that exactly was, and all we are doing is trying to bolster the self-esteem of those who still can't handle living in a mostly Christian nation. Did I get that right? My question is: How can we possibly hope to turn out competent, thinking students in our public schools when so many of the people in charge of them are such absolute morons?

Politically Correct Dating

KENTUCKY GOES P.C. on B.C., A.D. It's one more brick out of the wall.

Makes me ashamed to say I was born there, ... 'course, the company I work for is just as bad, if not worse. We don't take "good Friday" off anymore, we have a Spring holiday. God forbid we offend anyone. (oops)

I'd like to think of it as the year "43 -A.K." (after Kennedy) when all this political correctness foisted it's ugly head and America seemed to lose whatever *innocence* it was trying to hold onto.

We've become TOO concerned about POLITICAL correctness, that we've lost all sense of MORAL, INTELLECTUAL, and SPIRITUAL correctness.

Then again....my "Gandhi-esque" demeanor would demand no less from me...!
