The provision on Sunday bar hours would allow establishments to remain open until 3 a.m. instead of the current 12:30 a.m., a change motivated by Colts games that have ended late on Sunday nights.
The bill, passed by both houses and on its way to the governor's desk, would also, among other things, end the ban on liquor stores selling on Election Day. Considering some of the people we vote in while sober, maybe we should have a drinking-while-voting prohihibition, with the limit set at .08 like we do for drivers.

Some of this crappy legislation makes the case for taking up drinking all by itself.

I had been under the impression that the ban on liquor sales during elections was to prevent crooked politicians from buying votes with booze.
I assumed that because that was the reason in my original home state of West Virginia. The traditional price of a vote was one of those little half-pint pocket flasks of whiskey.
But as Bob pointed out, what would stop anybody from simply stocking up on Saturday? I've hosted Sunday cocktail parties at my home, and even I have enough foresight to buy the beverages beforehand and I'm not even very bright.
