Wal-Mart brought a distribution center to Gas City, and instead of protesting the giant corporation's destruction of everything good and noble, as any decent city would, the silly people who think it's important to have a $55 million investment and 650 jobs actually show up to cheer:
"Folks, we haven't just won sectionals," Mayor Larry Leach said Tuesday to a crowd of hundreds of Wal-Mart employees, county and state officials. "We won the state championships, and today we're going to cut the nets down."The center, 100 Fischer Parkway, officially celebrated its grand opening Tuesday, with speeches from top Wal-Mart executives, local managers and Gov. Mitch Daniels.
What a bunch of hicks.

Don't know if that's considered a "special kind of stupid"...but it sure is trying to qualify for that distinction.

B.G.
If a company created 650 high-paying jobs in Indiana and was so generous it even extended benefits to unwed and gay employees' main squeezes would Hoosiers come out to boo and hiss?
So creating 650 jobs is bad? and 650 people in line at the unemployment office is good?
