El crapo

It used to be that mostly lefty academics and goofy movie stars romanticized Fidel Castro as anything other than the thuggish leader of a brutal dictatorship. But when el jefe relinquished power this week, it became clear that the romanticized drivel is everywhere:

The preceding days have demonstrated that information peddled by Cuba's legion of academic and celebrity apologists has deeply penetrated the mainstream media consciousness, with credulous reporting sundry revolutionary "successes" of the regime: not so good on free speech, but oh-so-enviable on health care and education.

Wait till the creep dies. There is likely to be an outpouring of gushy nonsense the likes of which we haven't seen since Elvis left the building.

I just hope that with America's burdgeoning Hispanic community, we don't declare some "national holiday" (off)...

That's all we need.

I saw a clip of Michael Moore last night gushing. He hopes to bring Fidel to the Oscars to accept for him should "sicko" win.

Why is it the people that NEED to be dragged into the street and shot...never are (Michael Moore)?

None of the 50 years of plots, schemes, embargoes and so forth by our govt were we able to to do what old age has done.
All of these attempts at foreign interventionism had the effect of strengthening Castro.

proof positive we should just mind our own business around the world
