There they go again, being reckless with both our money and our national sovereignty:
COPENHAGEN — As hopes faded for a strong climate deal, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sought to put new life into flagging U.N. talks today by announcing the U.S. would join others in raising $100 billion a year by 2020 to help poorer nations cope with global warming.
She made the offer contingent on the conference's reaching a broader agreement, including on the issue of “transparency,” demanding a Chinese commitment to allow some kind of oversight to verify its actions to control emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases.
The Chinese thus far have resisted what they see as a potential intrusion on their sovereignty. But without that, Clinton said, “there will not be the kind of concerted global action that we so desperately need.”
Never thought I'd be rooting for China. It could be the Joe Leiberman of climate change!

Have to admit that "helping" those poor, under-developed nations by sticking a windmill or three smack dab in the middle of their tribal conflicts doesn't seem all that "green" to me...
And how about a SOLAR farm in Somalia?
(so the pirates can see AT NIGHT)
This gets better by the hour...and not a GOOD better, mind you.
It'd be a damn site easier to just put $100 billion in a pile and light it on fire. It would have the very same effect.
Speaking of abdicating sovereignty via treaty, where's all your outrage over ACTA?
