Fools' gold

Oh, good lord:

MORGANTOWN, Ind. (AP) — Indiana residents are panning for gold in rising numbers in hopes of scoring big with the precious metal.

Gold finds have been reported in 20 counties, and membership in the Central Indiana Gold Prospectors Association of America has grown from 25 in 2008 to 280 in June.

[. . .]

. . . most nuggets found in Indiana are worth an average of $25 — about enough to cover the cost of renting trowels and pans.

That's in the "earning enough money at a second job to pay the baby sitter" category, but I guess tough times bring desperate measures. Me, I'm a little more sensible. I'm gonna make a fortune with the stuff I find with a metal detector. Noboby is going to turn Fred C. Doobs on me over bottle caps and brass buttons.

They obviously got the right city but the wrong state. There is lots more gold ... and blue in Morgantown, West (by God) Virginia.
