"I just shot a birdie, and I think I can get an eagle on this one."
"Is that all? I'm going for the goose."
A northern Indiana city is allowing goose hunting on a golf course where a large flock has been causing damage.
Round Barn Golf Club in Rochester asked the City Council to approve hunting on the course, where golf pro Lyle Lingenfelter says up to 1,000 Canada geese spend the winter.
Bet the hunters will get a lot more holes in one than the golfers.

The Internet Center for Waterfowl Damage Management claims that Canada Geese typically do about $2,000 t0 $3,000 in damage to a golf course annually. This is hardly a reason to get excited about 1,000 birds. Hunting is not permitted at Wisconsin's Horicon Marsh despite the visit of a over a million geese annually.
The website also suggests ways to make Canadians (the geese of course) uncomfortable in their surroundings. I am nowhere close to being an environmentalist or will I ever endorse animal rights, but non-lethal methods of extricating the fowl appeal to me.
