There's already a story on one of the UK newspaper websites to the effect that this is faked, that Bin Laden has been dead for 7 years.

I was disappointed; I figured the conspiracy crowd would insist that OBL was still alive.

Theory No. 1: Immediately burying him at sea was a great idea because it will deprive his followers of a shrine around which to preach his martyrdom.

Theory No. 2: It was a terrible idea because the lack of a body and a gravesite will allow his followers to claim this is just a hoax perpetrated by the infidels.

Happy about the news he is dead, but my cynical side perks up because the body was immediately buried at sea and the informarion flow essentially is one source -- the government.

Tim, I know thinking hurts your head, but if the mission was to get rid of Saddam (it wasn't - it was to destroy nonexistent WMD), then why didn't Bush get us out of Iraq immediately after Saddam's capture?
I'm not being partisan, by the way. I don't understand why Obama still has 50,000 troops in Iraq (and who knows how many mercenaries).
