Healthy doughnuts

Being an expert in one area does not make one an expert in other areas. Starbucks should stick to coffee, and leave the doughnuts alone:

Starbucks Corp. is cutting trans fats from the doughnuts, muffins and other treats in half of its U.S. stores, and plans to eventually drop the artery-clogging fats from company-operated coffeehouses across the country.

The world's largest specialty coffee retailer has been working to eliminate trans fats from its food menu for about two years, spokesman Brandon Borrman said Tuesday.

Bakers with more knowledge and experience than I have may feel free to correct me, but there is one secret to the best doughnuts: lard. In any case, isn't there something a little strange about trying to improve one's physical well-being by eating healthier doughnuts?

A doughnut with no trans fat? Won't be a doughnut-I wouldn't eat one. If you don't eat doughnuts and things like this all day, every day, it's not going to be a big hazard to your health. People need to learn restraint and moderation.
