Does dying count as sick leave?
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Businesses need to plan on having 40 percent of their workforces out if a flu pandemic strikes and need to start rewarding employees for staying home when they are sick, U.S. government advisers told a conference on Tuesday.

REWARDING employees for staying HOME?
Wow...sure beats the "old days" when you were DOCKED every day you were out, unless you had a doctor's note (after the THIRD day that is). I recall a time where you were docked an entire HOUR if you were late over 15 MINUTES!
Then again with the federal government (another old employer of mine), you did manage to accrue sick time that you could use (up to a maximum of 120 days).
And there was the old school days gig where your schoolwork was SENT HOME to you (or picked up my your mom), so you would not fail the year.
How times have changed indeed.
"Sorry boss...I WOULD have come in, but I figured my oxygen tent and heart monitor wouldn't QUITE fit through the front door".
"I apologize for being late for work, but the fire department had trouble kick-starting the JAWS OF LIFE when I was pinned in my car on 469...I hope you understand".
With the job situation as it is...employers need to do everything they can to hold onto those good employees...
Funny thing is...the Feds ALREADY
"reward" too many people for *staying home* as it is...look around the SOUTH side of the city, and count the new SUVs in front of all the rentals!
B.G.
Look around the NORTH side of the city, and count the racists.
