Is Texas Gov. Rick Perry going to be the new Mitch Daniels, taunting us mercilessly with a "maybe I will, maybe I won't" tease on a possible presidential run?
The Perry camp is still telegraphing the notion that the default position is not to run, but it's safe to say they have cracked the door open, at least a little bit, over the last week. Specific wording matters — a lot — in these speculative political matters

It would be a shame if both Bachmann and Palin enter the primary. It would split the trailer-park incest vote.
Littlejohn, just curious. On what data do you base your assumption that people living in trailer parks are incestuous republicans?
Census data perhaps? Cite please?
At least it would give us a republican to vote for - he's been the governor here for the past 10 years (I think) and has mostly left us alone and let the Texas economy build jobs - can't say I would mind, ...
C'mon, Tim. That's not at all what he said. What he said was that of the Republicans who vote who are incestuous and living in trailer parks - and I'm not sure how many there are - they would tend to vote for one or the other.
My thought is that regardless of party, incestuous people living in mobile homes are more likely to have them situated on private property rather than in parks, because they would value their privacy. Darned if I'd know where to find statistics to prove or disprove up that conjecture, though.
