We, unlike voters in 43 states, can be reasonably assumed to be sober when selecting our public officials. So, we know why they might be making such bad decisions. What's our excuse? Need a drink yet?

I've heard that, in Indiana anyway, the prohibition is also a relic of anti-immigration sentiment in the early 20th century.
