Suck it up, Tara

Excuse me for piling on -- er, metaphorically -- a fellow Kentuckian, but Miss USA Tra Conner is a silly twit:

In a tear-choked voice, Conner said, "In no way did I think it would be possible for a second chance to be given to me." Turning to Trump, she said, "You'll never know what this means to me, and I swear I will not let you down." Trump said Conner would be entering rehab. A pageant official said details would be worked out privately with Conner over the next weeks.

Ah, the rehab route. The woman just turned 21, which should be under the legal age limit for being able to duck into a clinic to make up for bad behavior. Unless there is serious mental illiness present, involving brain-chemical imbalances of major proportions, "troubled" should not be an adjective the press uses about such people. Wait till she's got a couple of kids and a deadbeat ex-husband. THEN she can thank somebody in a tear-choked voice for her second chance.

Are there enough rehab openings for all the people at or near 21 who occasionally binge drink? Clearly, they are all troubled individuals...

Damnit Jeff, The stars are colliding again! I concur wholeheartedly. Using the re-hab card has become an absolute cure-all and forgive-all. It's crap...she's just a twenty year old kid partying it up in the big apple who happened to get caught. Much ado about nothing.
