Most awful idea of the day:
“There are great programs around the country — one of the ones I most admire is a project called Tennessee Promise, where every student that participates gets their community college education, at least for the first two years, debt free, free of tuition.”
[. . .]
“If kids can't graduate with a four-year degree in four years, there ought to be some payback to their families or to them, or there's got to be some support for the loans they’ve taken out,” he said.
Get that? Two years of free college, and colleges have to pay back students who don't graduate in four years.
No, that's not from Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama, although it's eerily similar to what they talk about. It's from Jeb "I'm the conservative one in the family" Bush. Rmember that story a few weeks ago about how certain big donors were funneling money to hillary and jeb both because either one would be OK with them? So don't act so surprised.

Given that U.S. military aid to Israel was $2.775 billion in 2010, $3 billion in 2011, $3.07 billion in 2012 (and $3.15 billion per year from 2013-2018) while Israel's defense budget is around $15 billion and the Pentagon's $8.5 trillion in taxpayer money doled since 1996 that has never been accounted for, collage cost seems like peanuts.
Why is it conservatives always bitch about any money spent to help Americans that are their neighbors but never mention money given away or lost at the Pentagon? Never a word said.
Here's one, Joe. I think we are spending, or attempting to spend, way too much money on damn near everything ...
Word. Said.
Don't disagree on the spending guys, let's take the hatchet to the Pentagon, after all the U.S. spends more on defense than the next 10 countries combined. But since it appears the money is gonna be pissed away anyway, why not use a little of it to help people in this country for a change instead of making defense contractors rich and borrowing money to pay for other countries defense?
Only point being giving money away and losing billions no one has a problem with but any help to the american people is always a budget buster.
"One of the great mistakes is to judge policies and programs by their intentions rather than their results."
- Milton Friedman
The Community College program is founded on grand intentions. The results-as measured by graduation rates- do not justify the expenditure.
