Tailing the Komets

Al Sims' reaction

``I think any time you get a match penalty for swinging your stick, it's going to be severe. Obviously it was more than Mac's last year and Labenski's this year but I think stick swinging, they take it more severely than an elbow or a knee-to-knee hit or anything like that. Stick swinging is something they don't want in the game so I wasn't surprised by the length.''

Frozen Water--2 min. penalty for picking on a senor citizen who is a very nice guy. You have to set next to Burgee and feel shame. No Foo Foo's for you either. Remember this, Chuckitt hasn't been to a game since opening night do to some serious health issues. Just cut him a little slack, please!

You know a lot about centimeters, GHockey? Also, how is calling all Komets fans spoiled not picking on other fans? I've read a lot of what Chuckitt has written for a good amount of time and, from what I have read, he really doesn't need you or Dschebig to stick up for him. While that was cute of both of you, believe me, Chuckitt will rip into me when he gets around to it. As Dschebig loves to type over and over and over, we all have rights to our opinions, and that was mine at that particular time. If you don't like it, you do not have to read it.

Dschebig: I'll sit with Burgee and from what I've read will probably be greatly entertained. However, no foo foo drinks for me. I need a lot more kick in my drinks. On top of that, I learned logn ago not to buy drinks at the Coliseum. Lots of money for not a lot of liquor. I think there is a higher chance of getting drunk off of a juice box than the "drinks" at the Coliseum. Besides, it takes away from the hockey I'm told I don't watch at the games.

Frozen Water-- I think your getting it. Fun it's about about fun! I enjoy what you have to say. Your opinions are good. I appreciate what you type. I was just sticking up for Chuckitt a little bit. You are right he will comeback at you. That's good also. I can't speak about the drinks at the Coliseum since I can't drink there. Not sure I could afford it if I could. Keep smilin! :)

The mixed drinks may not contain very much liquor, but the beer must be regulation. Most every game I've got soused people stumpling up and down the aisles, going in and out all of the time, and screaming nonsense at the players and refs. A little bit of libation is okay, but some people have been getting way too much.

I hear that, Scarecrow. The seats next to us aren't season ticket holders so it's always a crapshoot whether or not we'll get some drinkers (or kids are just as bad) who want to get up every 5 minutes to go to the bathroom, always during gameplay of course. Also, has anyone else had issues in your sections with the Red Coats not enforcing the "no entry during gameplay" rule? I'm complaining a lot. Maybe I need a non-alcoholic mixed drink from the Coliseum? ;) OK, I'm done. Positive thoughts! Everything is OK. The Komets team is fine as it stands. I'm just spoiled and know nothing about hockey or what I've seen with my own eyes. Everyone is happy. We're going to win. People are coming back. It's go time now. GO KOMETS!!!!!!!!

There are red coats working the game?? I haven't seen any for a long time. Oh, do you mean those people that hold the signs and then point people's seats out with the signs during play??

Frozen water you should be ok sitting next to FooFooFurgee, from what ive read in the past, he is always armed with a flask!

2 tall coliseum drafts and i am guaranteed a headache in the morning, theee worst beer ever!

I have to agree with some of the above posts, this team seems to be lacking something, they dont seem to be playing on the edge, hopefully with mac, shaf and bouch back that will spark something!

Sorry scarecrow not sure where you sit but it could be me that is the one who yells nonsence at the players and refs, or the one who is stumbling up and down the isle. BUT I only get up when gameplay is done no matter what. I like to yell nonsence, it makes people laugh around my section ( Upper 215) I try not to cuss, but sometimes it happens. And most everyone in our section knows me and they are fne with what i yell. Sometimes on the weekday games they they yell at me cuz im not yelling.

FooFooFurgee....LOL!! Funniest post I've read all week!

Way to bounce back from negativity, Frozen Water.

Chuckitt, I hope you're feeling better and better each day. My little guy is gonna be the interview guest with Wendy this Friday night....if he can remember to do so (always doubtful - he's 9!), I'll have him give ya a shoutout.

Chuckitt, glad to see you back posting :)
The team as it is constructed may not be around long if things don't turn around.
Blake are ANY of the contracts on this team guaranteed?
If not, then everyone including the likes of Chaulk, P.C. and the rest of the vets who have gotten too comfortable with their place in town had better look over their shoulders. The Komets can lose (or maybe play better) by bringing in kids who will play for less money and maybe play harder.
Minor league hockey players in their 30's sometimes start drifting their focus from hockey to life after hockey. Wives, kids, future jobs and the like all start to become more of a priority when you hit 30+ for hockey players, and people in general. Especially when you have won back to back cups, you realize you aren't going to advance to another level, it is very likely that selling insurance, fighting fires and running a hockey rink become more of a priority than the "side job" of playing hockey.
Bring me in a team of 20 kids under the age of 25. Put up with their mistakes and watch them grow. I have always admired the Franke family for showing loyalty to players both during and after their careers are over. But there is a reason why there have been very very few teams that have three peated in any sport at any level. If by New Years Eve the intensity has not picked up (and to me that has nothing to do with fighting) then I would look for some familiar/comfortable faces to be only shown on billboards in town and not on the Memorial ice surface.
