The mayor of Greenwood said Monday his city was shortchanged when it came to the distribution of federal stimulus funds.

 

Republican Charles Henderson said the city had proposed several projects that he thought would create jobs and improve the area.

 

"We ended up with 11 different projects, but, originally, there were five we were hoping to get funded. But none of those got funded," he said.

Did you notice this bit from the linked article? "U.S. Rep. Steve Buyer R-Ind., an early critic of the stimulus package, said Monday he would call on the appropriations committee for $30 million for the project."

At least OUR congressman, who was an early supporter of the bank bailout measure, make no bones about it and likes to boast at election time about his ability to "bring home [federal] the bacon."

They should replace Uncle Sam with Alfred P. Newman on recruiting posters.
