Opening Arguments

Armd and presumptuous

I know some of you have followed the media's bias, ignorance and downright incompetence when it comes to gun issues. Hot Air here covers MSNBC's spectacularly stupid questioning of Sheriff Chuck Wright, the lawman who made news recently by urging law-abiding citizens in general and women in particular to arm themselves. Could anyone possibly be as clueless about self-defense as this question seems to indicate?

CRAIG MELVIN, NewsNation guest host: If women are shooting potential attackers, aren't they presuming guilt before innocence? What if a woman kills an attacker? Isn't that opening another whole legal can of worms?

Sheriff CHUCK WRIGHT, Spartanburg, S.C.: Well, it's easy to fix that. Just don't attack a woman

Leo:
Good call here.
There IS no "potential" when being ATTACKED, so...you "neutralize" the perpetrator...BEFORE you become a statistic.
Case closed.
And this does lend credence to the fact that CCPs for WOMEN have risen close to 70% of late...
Got no problem with that one bit.

If she kills the attacker BEFORE she becomes a statistic, that makes him a POTENTIAL attacker.

Of course, if she waits until he attacks her, it probably will be difficult to pull that gun out.

More reasons to have unconcealed carry. Not only does she discourage would-be attackers without getting blood stains all over - they're terribly difficult to remove! - but by her example, she makes it more socially acceptable for others to arm themselves.
