Heard a rumor that one of the K's dad's in attendance at Flint tonight went after a Gens fan who was heckling his boy when in the penalty box.... Thats great! LOL... Thats old time hockey when the fans get into it in the stands like that....

Hopefully eveyone was just given the opportunity to cool off and no law was involved...

Just got back for Flint. You know what....I like that little arena. Fun place to watch a game. People were nice to us there too.

The problem that I see right now with the Komets....the defensive pairings have been tinkered with, and they suck. DeAngelis has Warner with him now.....Guy and Danko.....and Bert and Phillips. And Rodger is back in the doghouse just skaiting as the extra forward only getting on the ice 5 or 6 times tonight and I agree with whoever said it...he is being wasted. Why not allow BW be the extra forward right now and leave Rodger on the blueline so he can play strong physical defense, because he is one guy that will do it shift after shift. Bert and Rodger 3 weeks ago looked golden together. Danko and Bobby were locking people down....and Frankie and Guy were complementing one another well. So why the switch this late in the season??

Mac being out is killing us right now. Way too many cheapshots being taken from Flint and it does make a difference in the game. With Brad and even Woods, some of that stuff gets taken care of, and then Schrocky doesn't have take the beating physically he got tonight...and they were picking on OC tonight too. He got sucker punched 2 or 3 times tonight. Huk got sucker-punched a couple of times as well.

One line tonight that was interesting....Chaulk Hukalo and Schrock. I like that line. Chewy busted his tail once again tonight. I hate to say it, but I saw the 75% effort from one guy.

Flint is good. They are gelling at the right time, and I'd hate to play them in the first round of the playoffs. They could pull off the upset, and they will leave you bruised and bloody too. Not to mention they have 2 solid goalies.

We had to change the D pairings. We don't want DeAngelis showing up a couple of veterns and winning the all important +/- award. Anyone else notice that when Rodger is at forward and another d-man in insterted in the lineup that the entire defense seems to suffer?

Just think of what we could have gotten instead of Woods. 1 goal. No physical presence. Sitting in the stands. Legault would have at least won a couple fights.. But I'll leave Mitch and his Charley Horse alone.

I don't understand why Sims doesn't skate Rodger on defense. In my opinion, he is a much better d-man than Warner. He doesn't panic, he is physical, and he usually has good positioning. Is there something I am missing?

Rodger's family probably doesn't have as much money as Warner's does. I'm happy to read I'm not the only one who notices the team going down the tubes when Warner plays any extended times. I'll be waiting for someone to jump in here with "They won 6-2 on Thursday night, that's really going down the tubes." Again, worst team in the league. Awhile back I posted something similar about putting Rodger on the ice instead of Warner and several on here jumped down my throat like I was talking about going around and shooting people's puppies on the weekends. Face it, he is nowhere near as good as Rodger is, and I don't really care if someone drops in some random stat that he just happens to have better numbers than Rodger. Think about it, they only play Rodger 1/20 of the time as Warner and usually put him in on a worst line. WE WANT RODGER! WE WANT RODGER!

Oh, on a positive note for tonight: GO KOMETS!!

I think if the Komets had a real power play, a lot of this stuff wouldn't happen. The Journal, this morning, listed them at 0 for 7 on the power play. Other teams know how ineffective their power play has been and they may be taking liberties. It's way past time to shake it up.

I am probably wrong, but the Komets seem very deliberate on the power play. The puck movement is not quick at all as I think they are waiting for the perfect pass or for someone without the puck to move. Problem is when you are deliberate it gives the opponents time to get in the shooting lanes. Muskegon seems to whip the puck around and usually gets quality shots.

This was a very bad loss. Especially when you ralize that they just had gotten beat up there and they should've been ready.

Its easy to start pointing fingers after a loss. Each loss is much more magnified now, then say, last November and December. Those games back then, when some of us were calling for changes and not satisfied with the level of play, but were ridiculed for not being patient, and being "negative", and were told to relax because of the "magical winning spurt" the Komets would enjoy after Christmas, now seems more than justified.

3 or 4 weeks ago, when we were healthy, they sat Warner and had Rodger back on D and we played the best 2 or 3 defensive games, in my opinion, of the year. Now I am not saying that Rodger was the only reason, but we are definately a much stronger defensive team with Rodger back there. Maybe there are some other issues that Sims has with him, I don't know......It's just frustrating sometimes as a fan to see this.

I think this team has a lot of skill but we need some physical presence to add some balance. Flint is not a 'big' team by any means, but they sure took it to us last night. Knowing that we don't have that presence, allows other teams to take liberties with our skill players.

After that loss to Flint we are holding onto second place by a hair. We need to win tonight to hold on to second. Looks like we play the Hawks in the first round and the only question is who will have the home ice advantage? Flint could finish in 4th and that puts them against Musky in the first round. That could be a great series if Flint keeps playing as well as they are now!! Hope Mac makes it back from the shoulder injury soon as we miss the toughness he provides!! See ya all tonight.....4-3 Komets is my guess.

Rodger also could cure some of those toughness issues. When he's out there throwing his weight around, people notice. When someone gives it back to him, he isn't afraid to throw down the gloves. Has Warner ever taken his gloves off before going into the locker room? If he has, it hasn't been often and it really wasn't memorable. I guess there could be some issues Sims has with Rodger that we don't know about, I just cannot think of what issues you could have with someone who puts out 100% effort each time he gets a chance to get on the ice, puts out great hits, and plays great defense. Then again, I'm not a hockey coach, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

Do you mean a Holiday Inn Express? Frozen Water, I know what you mean. If it were me, I would play Rodger back on the "D" and when I needed an extra forward, I would play Warner there.

Frozen Water

Alan: I usually go for the straight Holiday Inn, a bit nicer than the Express and the dividends are incalculable.

I guess we'll see what the lines look like tonight. Whatever they were last night obviously didn't work. Hopefully we aren't talking about a losing streak after the game tonight...
