There is a guy who I think the only reason has not been looked at to play at a level above the UHL is his height.

Give another couple of years. If he's as consistant he may yet get a shot.

BTW Tony, don't bother with Hobo.

People-we really don't for sure know why Colin signed with the team in Italy, we can specualte, but let's wait until Blake put's it in writing before we all go off half-cocked. This item was great with people giving their feelings and emotions then a couple started in as to why Colin left. Why not let either the Frankes or Colin tell us, then we can discuss it. For now just say how you feel.

I wasnt trying to say that Tony, I was saying with the new cap there would be less money and in previous years he had in writing or verbally from the Franke's that he wouldnt be let go(sorry greg). I m not a mgmt basher. Business in business. If you got offered more money to do what you do now and get to go to Italy and all over Europe, what would you do?
Oh and the MAN!!! was for komet warrior

Okay hobo, first off, the salary cap is HIGHER than last year not lower. I got that from the paper. I also know that the Komets came in under the cap, or so they said to Blake. Second, If written contracts aren't binding in the UHL then niether are verbal contracts.

I can't believe I'm getting into this.

Tony-any thought to because Tapp being signed by the MAllards had the Frankes calling St. Pierre?

I can't either....now its in Blakes hands to find out. I'm not trying to be a pr*ck, I'm just stating what I heard. You are the one trying to make me look like a fool. I know I did it myself, right?
ANYWAY
How about the Franke's didn't offer more or whatever because they did not know how his achilles would affect him this year?

Greg

That's a vaild argument once we find out from either the Frankes or Colin as to why he didn't sign. Right know all we know is that Colin's going to play in Italy and that there was a contract issue or issues that caused him not to sign.

And for all those that think the Frankes didn't want Chualk a back this season, you'll have to prove to me why yuo think that way.

wooo wooo he wanted a no trade clause..
greg not everybody makes stuff up just to get people upset.

Greg I am not sure how hard the Komets were looking at Tapp. Certainly a quality goalie. A couple of years from now he will be too old. 5 foot 8 goalies went the way of Allan Bester and Darren Pang.
Hobo now that you explained your comments they make more sense. I really do though have a big problem with a AA minor league hockey player in a no guarantee contract league thinking he should get a no trade clause. Hockey players and everyone else in the working world get traded/released everyday. If he wants a job where he doesn't have to worry about that...well I don't know of one.

Sylvain Daigle wasn't the jolly green giant yet he managed to win 2 cups in a row. And if I'm not mistaken Joe Damiline who Frenchy passed for the all time shutout lead was under 6 foot as well.

I think given the right circumstances, Tapp could proser in this league and go higher.

Joe was a hell of a goalie. I think if he had been playing on 2002-03 instead of the local kid from up here (tired now and can't remember his name lol) they might have given the Komets a better run.
The two guys you mentioned both had a hard time getting above AA and it wasn't because of ability. There is a perception on height (heck I am only 5'5 so I have experience with it lol) that smaller goalies no matter how quick can't cover the net as well as a bigger. I was told from the time I was 13 I would never see anything above AA Junior ( a step below the OHL) because of my size. You have to admit Frenchy looked intimidating just standing in the net because of his size.
Tapp is in his late 20's so even the AHL is probably out. He could be a guy like Alban (and now Chaulk) who goes overseas and makes a nice living in his 30's. Here, maybe the ECHL might be the best he can do. It stinks but it is the "system" One thing about the UHL I can say ever since the Komets have been in the league is that there has been great goaltenders all over the place.

If those Eye-talians want to sign "our" players, they aought to learn to talk and write in American. (The good ol' YEW-ESS of A)

We kick their butts in WWII (The BIG ONE! We wuz in THAT one to WIN) and now they get their revenge.
