Just in case you thought Congress was being distracted from the really important things by trifles such as our energy crisis and the war on terror:
Here's one I just never imagined the federal government might take responsibility for: bedbugs.
That's right. No issue is too small for your Congress to handle. But seriously, judging from the comments so far on H.R. 6068, the Don't Let the Bed Bugs Bite Act of 2008, people think bedbugs are a problem that Congress should address and that the federal government can help solve.
Guess I shouldn't whine. The program's cost is only $50 million a year for four years.

Leo, I'm sure if we put out heads together, WE (you and I) could get funding for something a LOT more worthwhile.
Remember all the grant money that goes relatively "unclaimed" every year.
I KNOW we can do a lot better than bedbugs.
