A couple answers you wanted

David Franke said there will be a new third jersey this season, and it will be a home jersey which will debut on opening night. They are going to wear last year's black, red and white jerseys on the road mostly, and the new jersey will split time with the traditional home white jersey.

There's no news yet on a third exhibition game, but it won't be with Cincinnati. It also won't be with Kalamazoo.

The Komets are planning on being on the road for 15 hotel nights this year. Last year they were o

I thought I'd heard and read that.....my first thought was 30, but I fudged the number 35 to be safe.

Thanks Super Fan.

Hope this helps you Andy.

30 contracts as a limit, well, that makes things very interesting. That makes you sign players wisely, makes you value what you have, and makes every player's role very valuable.

If they did indeed "sign" Legault for the season, an official contract like Cohn reported, then I would say we see alot of Legault this season, at least for a while.

There are no things such as ``unofficial'' contracts. All 23 players right now are under contract. You can have up to 30 going into training camp. Doesn't mean they will all make the team, obviously. Essentially, the contract goes into effect if you make the team.

OK, so you can have 30 in camp on contracts. That doesn't mean you have to stay below 30 for the season though......right?

Blake, we have heard that in the last CBA between the CHL and PHPA there is a ceiling amount for contracts for the season. That each team is given a specific number of contracts for the season and once they're gone, they're gone... If you need a player you would have to trade a player for the rights to "open" contracts from another team... This is something I've never heard of before and have been trying to track down. Have you heard of anything like this?

That question has me very courious. I have seen seasons where we went through 50+ players (contracts) There was a whole host of reasons. All valid!

JR.......I just looked through the last CHL CBA. Nothing in regards to that issue you last mentioned. Maybe it will be in the next one. NHL teams are allowed to have a max. of 50 players signed to NHL contracts (both 1 and 2 way contracts) at any one time. Maybe they are trying to follow suit to some extent.....?

I don't know. It's one of th ose things that's being negotiated in the new CBA so no one will comment on it. we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm not a big fan of the Captain Komet sweater either but please not the one Y2K dug up! I think the only one worse was the State of Indiana one when Welker owned the team.
