Crime stopper

Criminal genius of the week:

A Terre Haute man accused of snatching $17 out of the hands of a young lemonade stand operator on Monday faced a judge Tuesday on allegations of felony robbery.

Steve Tryon, 18, told police his friends put him up to taking the money from the 11-year-old girl, whose stand was at Deming and Center streets. The 11-year-old and a 12-year-old girl were selling lemonade there.

The moron ran down Center Street and into an apartment. The 12-year-old simply followed him and called police.  Tryon told police his friends pressured him into stealing the money.  “I'm the kind of guy, if somebody tells me to do something, I do it.” That attitude will make him a lot of friends in the slammer, won't it?

Kids still have lemonade stands?

Kids still have lemonade stands?

Alexandra Scott did, in 2000 - and she made a million dollars in four years.

The 12-year-old was brave - but it's not very smart for a 12-year-old girl to follow a criminal into an apartment building alone, to see which apartment the criminal was entering. By definition, idiots do all sorts of really stupid things.

That would be true anywhere, but take a look at the neighborhood in Google Earth.
