Czared and feathered

The politicians never rest:

Perhaps caught up in Super Bowl fever, Sen. Evan Bayh says he wants outgoing Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy to be President-elect Barack Obama's point man for promoting responsible fatherhood.

It's unclear exactly what he wants Dungy to do in that role. But as Washington has a czar for most everything, a fatherhood czar might not be far off.

Fatherhood czar. Right.

Let's see. Dungy wrestled with quitting football for several years because his family is mostly in Florida, and he felt guilty about not spending time with them. He finally announced his retirement this year to be with that family more, which would, among other things, help him further the goal of "responsible fatherhood." So let's make him a czar and send him to Washington to promote responsible fatherhood, taking him away from his family again. Makes perfect sense to me.

Of course, if he took that job would be a feather in somebody's cap. Not sure whose.
