Tailing the Komets

Deal is complete

Komets general manager David Franke said the deal for forward Noah Whyte is complete and has approval from the UHL.

``He's listed as a left wing on their roster but he's been playing center,'' Franke said.  ``We wanted another legitimate centerman to come in. We're hoping he can step in and help us out. We wanted a little more versatility at the position.''

Franke said that the Komets would prefer that Kelly Miller or David Carpentier did not have to play at center, and that Whyte will probably end up as the team's 10th forward.

Franke also said the Komets will be releasing a player in the morning.

Well we may not get to see Whyte since he is wearing the #22 sweater.....the K's can make a film about the curse of #22 and call it my three games wearing #22....

I am glad to see Rumble sit. I have not been that impress with him since he came of IR. He really has not jumped out at me as a powered forward as they wanted him to be. I am not sure if he really gives us anything it also may be to early to really tell what he brings to the table.

Jorde fought Stewart wish this game was on B2 but it was canceled according to their website. K's jump out to 3-0 lead again..Will they hold it?

Well, I guess Rumble will think twice before he rips off a terrific shot again like he did to spoil Tapp's shutout here last Friday. Sorry, just being a smart---. I too am still upset over the Wiggins trade. I liked him a lot last year, was thrilled when he signed over the summer, and disapponted when he was traded for basically nothing. I didn't get it then and I still don't get it. Yes he is heavy on the minus side, but look where he is playing. The only thing I can figure out is that he just didn't fit in our system, but wouldn't we have figured that out last year?

I agree that Wiggins wouldn't be able to put up those numbers here because he's not a first liner, but it's the point that he's able to make those points if played correctly. Most of the trades this year have proved to be a benifit. I don't believe this one was.

Wiggins will be here this Friday night. I am sure he will play as hard as he did New Years Eve. Do not pay attention to his +/-, his team is horible. Look at rest of team (ie, DA Beau.). This is a rookie that can score if giving the chance. But the Franke Nation just gave hime away.

You guys are delusional.

Blake

OK, here's why. The Komets' current left wings are P.C. Drouin, Lance Galbraith and Jonathan Goodwin. Who's spot would you have Wiggins take? There's also Matt Hunter who is a left wing.

I see that Luke Sellars played tonight for Danbury and had an assist. I suppose that the reason he didn't sign here is that he was offered the #22 jersey and he bolted.

Summerfield was picked up by Roanoke. I can't wait to see this kid play more shifts in one game against us than he played the whole time he was in the Fort. He will come out looking to prove something. Hate to be the guy who gets blind-sided by him. Our guys better be on their toes. He proved in the few shifts he played that he was fearless. Ask Danny Stewart.

The Reason the game wasn't on B2 was because Flint has no radio broadcast and the Komets refuse to let B2 let them use our radio broadcast.

i thought then and still do that wiggins couldnt make it with this team. he was small and not physical and would have to be a third liner here. i didnt think he showed the fire that he did last year when he was here before bolting back to college. the only problem was that we traded him for nothing. somebody missed the boat there. thru all these player transactions and comments of what we need ect, i wonder why did we ever get rid of guys like kotlyuk and beauregard? i could care less about the plus minus stat cause it can show a slacker with a good grade if he is on the ice with the right people. id never give up a a forty goal scorer even if he was a negative 17 or more, and da would sacrifice his body in front of the net that only galbraith is willing to do . why why why

OK Blake, are you a member of the Franke nation too. If Iam correct wasn't PC,Lance and Goodwin signed before the season.Wiggins was signed before the season.Who's spot was he going to take than. Sometimes a little heart will go farther than talent at this level.

Yawn. Why does not falling in love with one player make me a member of Franke nation? If that were true, there have been a few dozen guys over the years I didn't care for. That must mean I'm one of their ancestors.

It is possible to have a difference of opinion, even without calling people names. Tell 'em Hit Somebody!

At the time we traded Wiggins, if you thought to yourself "oh no, we just traded away a 20 goal scorer", then you are a liar. Wiggins, to put in simple terms, to the product of where he is. Roanoke sucks to put it bluntly. You put Wiggins on any of the top teams in this league and he doesn't put up these numbers. Pure speculation, but I'll bet on it. Half of his goals are on special teams and here in Fort Wayne with what we have....he wouldn't have seen much, if any, powerplay time.
Did he leave it all out there on the ice? Absolutely. He was yet another rookie the fans liked to which management discarded for what they felt were good reasons. Looking back on that trade now...it was foolish but in all sports you will have trades you look back on and probably regret.

I thought wiggins was a good player; but its kinda hard to score consistantly from your butt.....and that is where he spent alot of time when he was with us. It seems like everytime I saw him on the ice he was gettin knocked down to it. dont get me wrong I liked his heart and hustle he just got thrown around alot...
