Opening Arguments

Duh

Gee, do ya think?

The United States' climbing national debt could drag the country into a "double-dip recession," President Obama warned in an interview with Fox News Wednesday from China, though he said he's still considering additional tax incentives for businesses to reverse the rising unemployment rate.

[. . .]

"I think it is important, though, to recognize if we keep on adding to the debt, even in the midst of this recovery, that at some point, people could lose confidence in the U.S. economy in a way that could actually lead to a double-dip recession."

Golly. Increasing the debt during a recession might be bad. Who knew? If Obama says it's so, it must be so. Tax incentives for businesses? What a concept! Just a friendly word of advice: If adding to the debt is bad, STOP ADDING TO THE DEBT!!

No argument here...100% in agreement.

It's like "bribing" a business to come (or stay) here...on the CHANCE they might wind up remaining for a lengthy spell (anyone recall Kitty Hawk and how much incentive THEY received and how much they OWE?)...and that's just tossing WORSE money after bad, no matter how you cut it.

Pulling into RECESSION...next stop...DEPRESSION.
ALL ABOARD!

Boy, the way Glenn Miller played. Songs that made the Hit Parade.

Guys like us, we had it made. Those were the days.

Didn't need no welfare state. Everybody pulled his weight.

Gee, our old LaSalle ran great. Those were the days.

And you know who you were then. Girls were girls and men were men.

Mister, we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again.

Seriously, wouldn't you think even his most steadfast supporters would shake their head in exasperation as he adds new programs and trillions in debt every day all the while stumping on the campaign trail (Messiah 2012 tour) telling us he is not doing that.

He's either oblivious to simple math, or he honestly believes his followers will never wake up.

Obama math...2+2=1!

Oh and Doug, I suppose it's easy for you to be glib because as the economy tanks your income goes up, right?
