President Obama might wish he had chosen his words more carefully:
President Obama, surrounded by Senate Democratic leaders, said today "we are on the precipice" of major health care changes, though "there are still some differences that have to be worked on."
He inadvertently spoke the truth, however. Democrats have run to the edge of a cliff on health care reform. And no matter how bad the news gets on eroding public support and estimates of how much more this will cost taxpayers, they remain determined to jump off anyway.
Happy landing!

I liked the analogy I heard yesterday. It's like the Democrats are bank robbers, they're in bank, guns drawn, so it's too late to back out. They're damned if they follow through and damned if they don't.
Politicians are so predictable - either party. When you are digging and you find yourself in a hole, the first rule was always to STOP DIGGING. They have not yet realized they are in a hole, ...
Gentlemen:
I enjoyed BOTH of your comments...so very apropos.
And I like hearing the truth.
Might I add that most politicians (on both sides) seem to be able to find their way into our POCKETS with ease, and yet, in more important matters (to US - not THEM), they can't find their ASS with BOTH hands.
Bob - they might be able to find their ass with both hands better IF both hands weren't already in our pockets. :-)
Larry:
Brilliant logic as usual.
(Don't know how that one got past me...lol.)
Thanks.
