Evan's chance

So, Hillary has ended the suspense. By voting against Roberts, she seems to be courting the liberal interests groups instead of the moderate wing of the Democratic Party. Here's Evan Bayh's chance. By voting for Roberts, he would be supporting a fellow Hoosier (sort of) and moving to the right of Clinton; a good place to be if he can get out of the first few primaries.

Democrats who wish to appear moderate will often vote moderately when it doesn't really matter, but they'll move heaven and earth to show up to vote with the radical left whenever it's a significant party plank at stake.

Personally, I'm embarrassed that Indiana, the red state, has been responsible for sending Bayh to Washington as a poster boy presidential Democrat. If Indiana wants to provide the country with a president, for our own good he ought to be Republican.

Does anybody really believe that if Evan Bayh got into the Oval Office he wouldn't usher all the radical liberals and gun banners and pacifists right back into power and influence?
