Family business

Hoosiers lead the way on family values:

A Portland woman has been sentenced to prison for drug-related convictions, and her 17-year-old son might be joining her in the Indiana Department of Correction.

Patricia J. Martin, 39, recently was sentenced to 10 years in prison by Jay Circuit Court Judge Brian Hutchison after she pleaded guilty to dealing in a controlled substance, a Class B felony that carried a standard 10-year sentence.

Her 17-year-old son, Harley Arnold, was also arrested last September after he allegedly sold prescription medication to police informants.

He was waived from juvenile jurisdiction into adult court, and is charged with three counts of dealing in a controlled substance -- including two Class B felonies -- in Jay Circuit Court.

Yeah, especially in JAY county...where they STILL value the LETTER OF THE LAW...and will SEND YOU TO JAIL!
(no wrist-slapping, plea-bargaining crap or "get out of jail FREE" cards there).

Gotta love those old-fashioned towns with old-fashioned values, eh?
