If there was a supervisor there, they meet with the officials after the games.

Hello Tim Hoke. I totally agree with you about the trap game.

The Komets play their familiar style of game, abandon the agressive game that seemed to work so well against Colorado and Bloomington, and then expect different results.

Too many penalties, too many missed chances, and all too many of the same shortcomings we've grown accustomed to, have produced all too familiar results.

I hope Shrock is OK and I think it would be best to keep him off the ice.

From the time it was announced that the Komets would be joining the CHL, the team has been outplayed, out general managed, out coached. Except for Evansville, even the rest of the IHL teams did a much better job bringing in talent and players who could succeed with the CHL style of play.

With a few exceptions this team needs to back up the truck and unload. For those who may think otherwise I would note that Rapid City and Colorado have only fielded teams for a very few years and yet they were able to spot and sign talent ( and succeed). Why hadn't the Komets been talking to their "stars"? They were able to. How did these teams do so much better job of scouting? For example, players such as Ulanski ( Colorado) and Colt King ( Rapid City) played for Rockford and Port Huron respectively. How could most any team have more contacts than the Franke's and Al Sims? The Franke's have twenty years and Al Sims close to thirty in the business.

David Franke needs to start working right now on his plan for next year. He needs to lose some sleep and burn into his mind this empty feeling that the 2010-2011 season has produced.

I posted yesterday that I thought whoever won game one would win the series. I haven't changed my mind at all and now the prospect looks pretty bleak. Impossible, no. Highly unlikely though, as they don't show any positives out of three losses.

Now they must win Saturday. Coming home down 2-0 and expecting to win three in a row is hardly realistic. Even if they win on Saturday I have my doubts that they could beat Rapid City twice in a row on Coliseum ice. Such is the curse of a five game series.

Throughout the season I've never known which "Komet" team will show up. Now I don't know what style of game they will play either. I do know that if things don't change in a hurry, the season will be over.

Then it won't matter.

I think its sad when fans have to blame officiating for losses...

I think its sad that seasoned Komet fans believe the CHL is out to 'get' them.... Why is it sad? Because Komets fans now sound like all those IHL2 fans they used to rag on for saying the IHL2 was 'fixed' or 'scripted' due to the fact that the Komets won everything.... Now Komets fans sound like all those Flint fans, K-zoo fans, Mallards fans, etc...

This teams loses when they let the other team dictate the style of play, period.

JR,

The offciating was bad.

I am not saying it totally was their fault though.

I just think that the no goal call was critical. That one call might have changed the way that game is played the rest of the way.

A 3-2 Score going into the 3rd is alot more managable than a 3-1 score and a 1 goal game is still anyone's game.

If you want to go on record and say that one call was legit.....then we can debate something here.

But I think everyone knows that one call was a Hose Job and basically changed the Komets efforts to either tie that game or win it.

Whether or not you agree that the ref called the game soft for penalties on the K's or not......

It is hard not to agree that the no goal was BS.

Ticket Guy, How can you say Beach Bums had the larger turnout if you weren't even at Wrigley? Wrigley had the game on 16 (that I saw, couldve been more in other parts of the restraunt) TV's, including 3 projection screens and had atleast 75 people tnere for the game. I'm confused as to why the winners at "CHL Referee Staff Sicks" has done nothing but talk bad about Wrigley. It's great that not just 1 but 2 local establishments are showing the games, no need for a competition between the 2.

Hit, all year long fans have been complaining about the officiating after every Komets loss and to hear people say that its some sort of CHL conspiracy to keep the IHL2 champs down is ridiculous... Just as bad as the comments we've read elsewhere of things being scripted, staged, or fixed in the IHL2 for the K's to win (since the Frankes backed half the league and were the face of the IHL2)....

A no goal call, whether you agree with it or not, did not dictate how the K's played the entire game... I have no idea why Sims continues to go back to that trapping style that HAS NOT worked all season... When they revert to that style, they get caught flat footed and take dumb penalties, just like last night. When they decide to dictate tempo, stand guys up at the blueline, and get ttraffic in front of the net, they can dominate. They gave up 2 PP goals on 4 PP's in the first period, killed them... The defense leaving guys wide open around the net, killed them... The K's overall play and NOT the ref killed them in game 1, IMO...

Amen JR, I HATE it when people blame the refs/ump for a loss. A ref/ump has NEVER a scored a goal, hit free throws, nailed a grand slam, etc etc. Sometimes you get a good ref/ump and sometimes they're terrible but despite popular belief by some, they're not out there to screw over one team or another. Blaming the ref/ump for a loss shows a lot of immaturity to me.

I am not arguing what you are saying because you are right about the TRAP and all.

I still think that a 3-2 game plays out differently than a 3-1, and maybe the score in the third period being 3-2 dictates Big Al to change the style some.....

But then again.....

Probably not.

I don't think the Komets played that terrible from the start of the 2nd period....they had alot of scoring chances in the first as well they just couldn't capitalize on.....we have seen this all season.

But there were long stretches where it felt like to me that the Komets were the better team, the breaks just didn't go their way, and I the breakdowns in the defense, twice I saw three komet players standing around a Rush player with the puck near the boards and a wide open Rush player skates by himself to the net to punch home a goal......

But you have to agree that Grimace and the Hamburglar would easily beat the tar out of Wendy and the King......LOL

I am immature for thinking that a 3-2 game is different than a 3-1 game when a ref screws a call up......

Ok....if you say so. :)

Gheesh......fellas, I am on youe side here.

You don't have to make personal attacks on me.

Hit, I wasn't referring to you with the immature comment. Getting upset every once in awhile at a ref is one thing but I'm talking about people who honestly believe the refs get paid off or that there's a conspiracy against the Komets. The people who blame every loss on a loss are the people I'm talking about...Doing a facebook group search will show you...

I think that is is wonderful about two places showing games in town, but Wrigley's was appouched last week and never call back after 5 calls so I think maybe that was only bad thing. I have seen bad about both going on and that should have been deleted we are all Komet Fans with hockey in our blood
