The electronic billboards are kind've a hazard to traffic. They catch your eye, you read half the billboard, and before you can catch the details, they've switched messages.

Next thing you know, the guy behind you is honking because you've been sitting at the light waiting for that ad to come around again.

There's a shortage of parts to make those electronic billboards, so they're mostly selling to markets that are more profitable, such as indoor signage (directories inside the Pentagon, for instance) and architectural signage, rather than competing for the price-sensitive billboard business, where vandalism is a significant problem.

In high-traffic locations, though, I see them springing up anyway.

Sweet Jesus Harl,

Is there ONE topic you're NOT inclined to wax eloquent for 3 or 4 paragraphs?

Lady gets on the bus with six kids, says "2 are 4 years old, 2 are 7 years old, 2 are 10, how much do I owe?"

Driver tells her, then asks, "Geesh, lady, do you get two every time?"

"Hell no, driver. Lots of times, I don't get none at all."
