OK, we've made lots of savings by buying smarter and contracting some things out (including -- wow! -- no longer cooking our own prison food.) But the governor also has a plan to "buy Indiana." Even if the stuff Indiana contractors provide costs taxpayers more?

Leo, We do not know if it cost more- for the Prisons and State Developmental Center, there were NO PUBLIC BIDS!!!!
"If you are thinking about cheating a taxpayer, pick another state than Indiana"...Unless you want to drive RV1 to Political Fundraisers.
And, for that matter, Governor Kernan rode around the state with ONE state trooper in a State Police car.
Is RV1, with its full time staff of 2, less expensive to operate?
Indiana businesses need to do a better job of rooting out and eradicating provincialism, in the form of higher prices and lower wages than the national median.
It will be far easier to "buy Indiana" from a business that is in touch with competitive pricing and employee compensation norms.
