Green

Who gets to decide what percent of "green jobs" is enough for the state? Enough for what, by the way?

According to a new survey published by the University of Indiana, there are not enough green jobs in the state. The survey found that almost two percent — 46,879 — of the state's workforce are employed in

I must say it is quite a revelation when the New York Times actually reports real facts and figures, especially when those facts and figures don't shine a glowing light on Teh Won.

I think you've gone a bit far. Green jobs certainly do exist, just not in the numbers likely to provide a major boost to the economy. Of course, when the automobile was invented, there weren't enough filling stations to affect the economy either. That eventually changed.
Whatever the impact, I think it's scandalous that the solar cells and windmills used in this country are largely imported from other countries. I don't know if those forms of renewable energy will ever become a very large part of our economy, but we could at least make our own. Every job helps.

The only GREEN jobs should be in the agricultural venue.
Which makes one wonder WHY farmland seems to be shrinking?

Wonder how those OTHER green jobs work out with say...wind turbines...when the BLADES are made in BRAZIL!

And btw, how's those ETHANOL plants working out for everyone?
(yeah, the ones that have ALREADY CLOSED DOWN)

It's all a shell-game.

How this administration creates green jobs:

1.Borrow a billion dollars from the Chinese.
2.Use about half of the dough to buy Chinese made windmills.
3.Use the other half of the dough to loan to a "start up" company (read: democrat donor) at an interest rate lower than what we're paying the Chinese (brilliant) so about 1500 guys have a year long job putting up the windmills.
4. Hope for a lot of wind.

Rinse and repeat with Solar.

Yeppir, that's a laser like focus.

Tim, you forgot the solar company in CA that was given $500 Million. Obabma was there at the dedication a year ago stating this was the thing government was good at and last week it closed its doors and filed bankruptcy.

Here's another $43 million poised to be flushed down the government porcelain bowl:

It's kind of like the stimulus, if it doesn't work let's just do again.

Laser like focus on jobs alright.
