The green death

The campaign to save Mother Earth by ridding her of all those pesky, polluting people achieves a modest but notable success:

A huge swath of the country is getting snow and it's raised an unusual and potentially dangerous problem for motorists.

Communities across the country are converting to LED traffic lights, but these lights don't emit heat, so snow doesn't melt like it would with a regular incandescent bulb. In some cases, Drivers then can't see the signals.

Every driver killed at one of these intersections is not just one less carbon-dioxide emitting meat machine, it's also one less evil car on the road. Why don't we get those lights here so we can be greener, too?

Extremely good example of "every action has a reaction" that legislators never seem to learn. An old friend of mine taught me years ago, whenever making a decision, stop and think of the next three things that will happen as a result of that decision and it saved my arse on many occasions.

Just how many blatant examples of governmental malfeasance does everybody need to understand before they stop turning over every aspect of their lives to the government?? Do you want these same morons deciding which "new" equipment to use to save your life?

On the bright side though, the traffic light snafu and subsequent traffic deaths will create or save a BUNCH of trial lawyers jobs.

Leo - Almost every traffic signal in Fort Wayne IS one of the new LED type - only ours are shaped differently so as to avoid this problem(ours have "eyelids" over the round openings).
