OK, OK, extortion is wrong, and a criminal is a criminal. But a certain part of me admires the enterprise of this couple, and certainly nobody is going to feel sorry for their victims:
Barnett and Catini have been contacting sexual predators over the Internet since early this year.
After several Internet conversations, the couple would contact the predators over the telephone and make arrangements for them to have sex with Catini, who was posing as a 15-year-old girl.
The predators would drive to a designated area along Rt. 39 near Salineville to meet with Catini. Barnett would hide nearby and photograph the predator, and then confront him and demand money and valuables. He said if the predators didn't meet his demands, Barnett

Geez...that makes the old Philly extortion ring that requested "protection" money from storekeepers pale by comparison.
You just have to admire our free enterprise system...
And I'll wager that somewhere in South Philly, "Rocco the Pipe" is shaking his head...lol!
