Chewy should have played the rope a dope with Parker.. He had one key element (the dope).. I he could have gotten Parker to try to chase him around the ice Parker would have surely fallen. (Dude is a worse skater than Worlton) After the big dummy falls down.. Wham! Beat the stuffing out of him.

Good to see the Komets squeek out a win.. Bertram and DeAngelis score.. I can't make sense of this anymore.

Yes, confidence and attitude have to come from within, though there are things that can be done to help things along in that department. I know Al already knows that, though. And yes, it can be a waste of time to wait for some people to find their motivation because it never seems to show up, but we're not talking about people like that. These are two-time Turner Cup champs we're talking about. These guys have had confidence and attitude in spades not all that long ago. They just need to find it again. Not that I don't expect changes to be made. I do. I just think that you can change people around all you want, but it won't make any difference unless the guys can find their confidence in the process. I've seen too many good teams get into slumps for no other reason than the mental aspect of the game to think otherwise.

So is it hopeless, then? We're all giving up? "Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?" :)

In other words, if you just start axing people and bringing in a bunch of newcomers, that could be even worse for moral. There has to be a balance.

Charlie Wilsons War, seen it a hundred times, you have to watch the whole movie to get all the zen master stuff, as long as we don't screw up the end game i'm fine. had been one of the free rentals on comcast for a while, havent seen it in a couple of weeks though.

Just to complete my thoughts on Wendy's post. Sure, I agree that the team two years ago had the "swagger" and knew (confidence) that they were going to win. However, to say that this years team is the same because there are some players who were on both teams really simplifies the facts. The facts are that the team two years ago had Mat Curedeau and Luciano Aquino. Look up their goal scoring totals and tell me how this team compares with them. Their talent lifted up the play of others, the others contributed also, confidence soars, and then winning becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Last year, the second best team in the league (Port Huron), got eliminated by Muskegon in the playoffs. Muskegon had a high scoring team, but terrible defensemen, a young goaltender, and a generally slow hockey team. The Komets just skated circles around them. Confidence is always important. It comes from succeeding. If it could be ingrained into the mind by other means every teams most important person would be the hypnotist. We need some help and like I said before it may only be two players.

Burgee: Not sure if you've seen it or not, but when you get the chance see Pirate Radio. It may be in that stage right now though where it's not in theaters and not for rent yet. When you get the opportunity though, check it out.

G_Hockey - Everyone has an opinion and that is just fine. You don't always have to agree with them and I've noticed in your posts that you are sometimes a bit negative. I'm a perplexed by that. Oh well, it is the new year...hopefully Jan.-May of 2010 is better for the Komets than the Oct.-Dec. of 2009.

Oh, okay. I have seen that one. Only once, though, and I guess I wasn't following it that closely. Most of what I remember about it involved Julia Roberts interacting with Tom Hanks.

There's only two things I can't stand -- people who are intolerant of other people's cultures... and the Dutch! :D

Glad someone got the Animal House movie reference....thought it might lighten things up, but I was WRONG!! g_hockey, keep on posting. You did not personally attack anyone. All you did was differ in opinion, no different than anyone else on here. And yes, you are allowed to change your opinion from one week to the next of you want. It's fine. Plenty of other people do, and they don't get blasted like you did. You're well-spoken, and I appreciated your posts. Have a happy new year!!

And thanks mightbite for the nice compliment. Jason was awesome, but I knew he would be.
