We had 764,000 hits last year
This year we've already got 761,000
Sometime this week we'll hit 2 million for three years.

I guess it's like something obscene, I'll know it when I see it. So far, nothing has come that close.

Wonder how many of the 2 million HitSomebody accounts for? It's hard to forget the "Original 6" of the Tailing the Komets when commenting on its overwhelming size.

Have they progressed every year?

I would think that this offseason put alot of hits on the site... Alot of fans were desperate to see the K's sign something better then what we had last season...

Is it broken down by month?

Did Larry become the delicate flower that JerseyGirl portrays him as when he was spending time in Bossier-Shereveport?

I've been waiting for a decent rivalry and this may help for the fans to dislike Dayton a little bit more. Kind of nice Dayton is so close that its easy to travel a short distance to get into his head. Getting into someone's head is all part of the game. If it was meant to be played behind closed doors it would be and televised only.

I am not taking anything personal. I don't care what or who people yell at. Obvious that you are taking it personal though. What I was confused on is how you can tell people to not yell at Larry yet you yell at Boucher all night long. That is what makes no sense at all to me. I never was excited when the Komets signed Boucher a few years ago becasue of him being a headcase in Muskegon and when he signed here nobody really had any intrest in him. I am not sure how you can paint Larry's pictures with Angel wings either. Most of the stuff he get is brought on by himself.

Larry is a greasy headed bum, he couldn't win a hockey game in fort Wayne if we spotted him 10 goals, can't wait to chant Laaaarrrrrrrrry

I bet 10 people account for 5% oft the yearly hits, on a dAily basis I use computers from at least 4 different IP addresses plus my mobile device

We average 100,000 to 115,000 hits a month during the season and anywhere from 30,000 to 50,000 a month during the offseason. What's amazing are the number of people who check it out who never post a thing, and there's a tremendous number of those from Canada. It's only something around 10 percent who post. I get emails from people who don't post all the time.

I wish they did post, could add to the discussion...

I also wish that the thin skinned people who dont post; but complain about content would contribute to the coversation instead of just complaining to you via email... What is left in the comments section of your blog entries are personal opinions and not doctrine or set in stone facts about the team we all follow... It doesnt say "Leave a Politically Correct Reply", it just says "Leave a Reply"...

We are all fans; but we all cheer for or follow this Komets team in our own way and that reflects in the opinions that are shared here... Nobody can force anyone to have the same view about anything in life; but is seems that the silent majority are trying to force opinions in only one direction when it comes to this blog... There was alot of good hockey discussion on this blog that has been eliminated because of thin skin.

I dont see why the people who dont contribute dont just read your entries and then stop there? If the comments left bother them so much then dont read them. Its really a pretty simple fix when you think about it. If you dont like being hit by a car, then dont play in traffic....

Sat next to Larry last year when Mississippi was in town. Told him how much I enjoyed his being part of the greatest hockey game I'll ever see in person. He's a good guy...often gives away his stick, even in the other teams barn. He's a great competitor who very easily could have stole game 7 from the Komets. Objectively, he stood on his head in game 7. It was great that we won, but seeing that game was simply incredible. Glad that Larry will be back in the building.

funny, one person comes out and talks about larry like his feelings get hurt, then comes right back and defends themselves for yelling at bouch all the time. we get it, you like larry, your buds, that has nothing to do with anyone at OUR home games yelling at him. its hockey, not dr phill.

also, posters like that start defending this or that and commenting on how its dumb or wrong, and boof, a warning. people have been booted off here for less even. its annoying to try and talk hockey with all this other crap and crying all the time. we cant be homers on a home town site without one or two crying about it. again, who cares and why. if anything you read here offends you, you need some thicker skin cuz the real world is far more harsh than sitting behind a computer behind a screen name. unbeleivable

We might wish we had Henley this weekend. QC just signed a guy whos even bigger and can definitely play a regular shift!

When I taught middle school, I would've loved to have seen some of the people from here try to make it from one end of the hallway to the other without starting to cry. Those kids would've eaten you alive!

As far as Larry goes, he's probably a great guy off the ice. I couldn't stand Alan Henderson back in his days at IU, yelled at him quite often, but when I met him in person, he was a pretty nice guy. I hated A.J. Guyton and loved to make fun of him choking at the end of games. The next weekend he was at a party at my apartment, really nice guy. I went to the next game and tried to throw him off his game just like usual. IT'S PART OF THE GAME!

Larry hasn't gotten to this level of hockey without learning how to take being yelled at by opposing (or sometimes home) fans. When I was in athletics, I got yelled at all the time and it only helped me to compete better. Larry is not the sissy some people on here would make you think he is. He's a competitor and feeds off of the guff he catches from the opposing fans. Any good athlete either feeds off of it or tunes it out. We aren't talking about a little girl with a self-confidence issue, we're talking about a professional athlete who CAN take it.

I emailed back and forth with Larry awhile back. I asked him about the treatment he gets in Ft Wayne. I loved his answer. He said, "It's a compliment. If you go into someone else's barn and the fans boo and chant your name, it means you don't suck."
And he's right. A rivalry with a guy like Larry is what being a fan is all about. I love that a quality goalie almost stole the cup from us in game 7. It made it a game I'll never forget. If we had won 5-0, I wouldn't remember that game like I do now. I'll be all over Larry when he comes to town.....because he doesn't suck.

Larry Sterling could have been an even better goalie. IMO. your right, he is at this level for a reason and caused a few great games with us in the past... but, again IMO, the dude and his antics, trying to drive over people, anything else he has done. he could have been better. not saying he isnt a great guy off the ice. i dont know that. but he was always big headed and thought he was the best and acted like a moran.

Shawn, who did QC sign?

And yet this topic has 51 comments without developing into a fist fight and continues to be very interesting. One person hasn't dominated the discussion by continually posting until everyone else gives up, either. It's been a discussion.

Well said, Jeremy. I think the vast majority of pro athletes have big heads IMO. Heck, a ton of high school football and basketball players (among other sports) have big heads. When you're better than most others at something, get fans, and have people yelling your name, it's only natural for that to happen.

Shows like the "Highlight Zone" are the worst thing to happen to high school football. Listening to 17 year old knuckleheads repeat what they hear from NFL players irritates me. Your job is to get an education and learn how to be a man, not comment on how the thug fistfight developed at the end of the game. The coaches are just as bad, going on ego trips. The machine starts being fed when kids are 15 now... Its almost impossible for anyone with a little talent to avoid it.

they may get big heads, but a good player wont let it get to their head! no excuse in the pros. you have to keep your composure.

Did QC sign someone or not. only seen something about them sign some 5'11" Dman.
