The lawyer was trashed

Well, maybe he was just in there looking for a client:

The president of the Jeffersonville City Council said she will call a special meeting next week to discuss the future of the council's lawyer, who was found Wednesday lying in a neighbor's garbage can after what he called a night of celebratory drinking.

Larry Wilder was found by the neighbor around 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Sorry, sorry, sorry; I know it was a cheap shot (shooting fish in a barrel, even), but I couldn't resist. Actually, I feel some sympathy for the lawyer. Police walked him home without charging him with anything after getting called by the neighbor, who said he likes Wilder and wouldn't have called police if he'd known that's who it was. Wilder is mortified and apologizing to everybody for his "private matter" that "became public because I am a public person." Journalists just love stories like this, by the way. We get to write the kind of juicy, sordid stuff we usually can't touch and even f superior about it because we're "informing the public."
