You're right Dan, this league isn't faster..the passing isn't better..the play isn't cleaner. I'm watching different games then you are and making it up in my head

Sorry, GM, I agree with Dan. It may be faster, but that doesn't mean the individual skill level is better. If anything CHL is less physical, too.

The passing in this league is far superior to last year's too.

Less physical? I disagree there. You can't skate near the boards without getting racked. There's less cheap crap behind the play but I'd say as far was quality physical play, it's increased.

GM and RK give it up. I have The Blakester on my side. We both can't be wrong. Leagues are equal at best.

It is less physical. Maybe not by design but if anybody gets "racked when by the boards" there is an automatic roughing penalty. Players can't check anyone i.e. they are scared to be physical and don't do anything. Boring hockey, boring league.

One way to always judge objectively is look at the goaltending. That is usually pretty consistent from year to year, meaning goalies are who they are and usually have less up and down progression from year to year. They also don't have a lot of movement as far as recalls to the AHL and such.

Bottacio is every bit as good as the best of the IHL, but other than him have we seen a bunch of great saves? Are they physically better than what we saw the last couple of years? No, they are not. I'm not even convinced they are as good overall, especially in terms of overall depth. So, are the goalies we have seen better than last year. No, they are not, as we prove week after week when we point out it's the things the Komets are NOT doing, not necessarily what the goalies ARE doing. That points to execution more often than overall skill level.

If you can take the emotion out of it, you can evaluate it statistically and there's really not much difference.

Now youre telling us what to do, dan? Anything else we can do for you, boss? And as far as having Blake on your side...well, not the best supporting argument you couldve used. No matter how many different things he tells you he's famous for, he does not know all when it comes to hockey. And just to save some people a post, neither do I.

As far as the goalies go, isnt Boucher's goals-against stat much higher this year than it was last year? Thats a genuine question because I have no idea. Notice I ask questions instead of just telling people they are wrong. If Bouch's numbers are higher, he mustve somehow gotten terrible over the summer to the point that he is not performing as well in this inferior league as he did in the superior IHL we saw last year. The rest of the vets must also have forgotten how to play too since they cannot keep up with the inferior talent of the CHL. That or they arent trying. Either is a good reason to be replaced IMO.

Boucher may be tired from playing all summer????????

Ok, Mite, you're just proving my point. Boucher last year 2.49 GAA, .921 save percentage; This year 2.68, and .917.

So, not much difference there. You could be right, I just think the play and passing both seem better. I guess our guys just got that much worse over the summer. I was looking for alternative reasons, but I guess there arent any.

Another BORING game in the CHL. I agree with Blake again. Talent depth is not as good as old IHL. We just are that bad. Don't know why you guys can't accept that? Also, RK,, thanks for accepting me as your boss. I knew you would come around.

I see "some players" gasping for air=maybe not in shape?????
Time will tell "if" boucher will tire out

What is funny about this continuous debate about level of play is that several players that have played both leagues have given their opinion but none of you have paid attention. They pretty much have all said the same thing. 1. Its a little faster because its younger
2. Not as skillful because of the youth
