Please don't turn the arena into a ridiculous rant of WWE, Bob Seager, Skynard crap, no way. Keep it real old' time hockey like you do. Love the Good 'Ol Hockey game at the start up during the Zamboni. I said this before, when Montreal goes on a power play, they play the Darth Vador theme, and I have heard other areans in the NHL, it really gets the crowd going, it's like a death march for the opposing team. Please don't fill the place with dirty southern music, we are a hockey town, a damn good one at that. Please don't let the fan's culture take away from the people that understand hockey and cherish it as a sport that has stood the test of time. Nashville Predators are horrible, playing country music after everything. I do understand where they are at though, but it just makes hockey look gimmicky. Play the standards. You da man, you do a great job. And I also agree with the organ and the old Komet's games trying to get a copy of those, that would be AWESOME!!!!

How about 'Shot Down in Flames' by AC/DC after St. Pierre makes an incredible save? I think that would be appropriate, especially with the new flame goalie mask Frenchy has this year.

Yeah, and take the helmets off the players, we want Old time hockey! Embrace the change people.

Frenchy's helmet doesn't have a single flame on it this year.

Yes, Brandon, it sure does on the top of it-check out the pictures on Cohn's site and you will see it.

Brandon

While I don't see what you're talking about on Cohn's website, I do know the guy the painted his mask and he's told me on several occasions that Kevin didn't want any flames on his helmet this year, despite how much he (the painter) wanted to use them. What you see that you think is a flame is probably just the trail of the comet but hey, i've been wrong once before so I suppose it could happen again.

If http://jordan.fortwayne.com/jg_komets/06-07-photos/100206/08.htm that is the picture you're talking about, that's his helmet from last season.

Frenchy's helmet has an updated version of the Komet fireball (animated) with an orange streak behind it (not a flame) and a bulldog/pitbull-like dog in a doghouse on the otherside with a sign that says "Frenchy".

Frenchy is VERY particular with his helmet as his painter has told me. It's also very symbolic.

Isn't there a comet/fireball with a fire trail on it? That's what I'm talking about. If that's not what it is, then I guess my eyes aren't as good as I thought they were. Either way, the song would still be appropriate for the Komet's 'fireball' symbol through the years.

FWKRTJ, it's not a flame? Wouldn't that be what trails from a fireball? Maybe I couldn't really see that well because I didn't see the bulldog in the doghouse on it.

It sure looks like a flame to me

How about playing some music that actually sounds like MUSIC not screeching, yelling noise by some long-haired hippy FREAKS?

Now, by GOD, the BEATLES, that was music.

You could understand the lyrics and there was nothing about killing cops or (s=e=x) -- unless it was holding hands.

Don't play "Lady of Spain"

The streak behind the animated fireball is not a flame. (technically yes it would be firey in real life) It is a long orange streak behind the ball.

The dog in the doghouse is on the left side around the ear (if you are facing the front of the helmet). It's pretty big so I'm surprised you didn't see it.

I sat with the helmet painted in Kalamazoo so I got a chance to discuss it with him.

Before this turns into a grouch-fest...just don't play any music at all...just announce the necessary hockey lingo and after that...complete silence. That would be real old-time hockey...like before they had music or pa systems or the wheel...Some of you people on here are fossils...Gee Whiz!!!

Wed, 10/11/2006 - 2:53pm

By-God we wouldn't want any music that gets the crowd into the game, now would we.

My suggestion is Larry...do what you want to do and tune everyone else out. You can't please everyone. I am sure everybody at the games can pick out certain things they like and live with it. But don't play any of that there Southern Style Music...or anything that makes any kind of noise. That was hillarious Junior. Play Junior lots of Sinatra and Lawerence Welk music. You know...what Mr. Sebring listens to...like Tiny Bubbles. Sounds like a song that you would listen to in the bath-tub....LOL

Hit, don't make me come over there!!! How dare you diss on my Sinatra! I don't think his music really fits into a Komet game, but it's great for other things!

"Fly me to the moon..."

I wouldn't mind listening to Franky S. at anytime Hit!! A little "Lady is a Tramp" would be nice. If it takes loud crappy music to get people involved in the game then maybe they should stick their i-pods in their ears and watch the game. If I have to hear Cotton-Eyed-Joe for 38 games this year I might just go freakin nuts.

One song I would like to hear is "Your Spirit's Alive" by Dropkick Murphys. Actually, anything by Dropkick Murphys would be great. Please and thank you.
