If I had to make a case for Mac, or someone like him, it would be this. Many times this year our team gives a lackluster performance.. someone like Mac can be infectious when he is giving 110%. You see spurts of it when Schrock goes out and has a monster fight, or monster check. Mac was good at what he did. Gave 110% each shift and when he rung someones bell in a fight or with a check he made sure the bench took notice and tried to fire them up...

Legault is supposed to be filling this role. He fails at it. Other teams could care less when he is on the ice.. Mac got the attention of the other team. Players and fans alike wondered what was coming when he come on.

Welcome back Chaulk. Merry Christmas to all hockey fans. Missed Chaulk's leadership on and off the ice.

Hmmmmm good article that gentelman wrote about Komets fans. Not all as he said! Take to heart fans that everything he said is true. We get way to much personal attacks on both these blogs. Snuff i am thinking 91 will be some help. Total answer to the situation? No but a stopgap yes. Merry Christmas all!! Now back into "blog stealthyness".

When Mac was on the ice, the other team knew it and respected him and that line. As stated earlier our 'ENFORCER' is not performing this task, nor is he respected when on ice, nor is he an 'ATTRIBUTE' to the TEAM. He may not convey the leadership (to my knowledge) but who knows about his scoring ability since only a few times was he released to be a hockey forward...sad. I would like to see him back for the gumption, attitude, force and fear he brings.

Shaun Bill, who is this guy? I understand he has the right to free speech like everyone else, however people have a right to their opinions, anywhere and anytime....how absurd an article. What has transpired on this blog during the past month or so is good communication, free speech and needed discussions. If Mr. Bill does not like that he can just "Shut Up."

Bob Chase just said on tv that the Komets are in a tougher league now. I wish he'd read this blog so he could be told how wrong he is with some +/- stats and goalie save percentages. Hopefully someone on here will set him straight since he apparently doesn't know what he's been watching for the past 100 years.

Ok, I feel like an even bigger dork for being on here at Christmas, but I saw Chaser on tv and had to share. Back to the real world and enjoying the holiday.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Bob can't help it if he drinks. What's your excuse RK?

RK - Oh well if Bob Chase said it it has to be true.. Not debating league talent levels with you here, but I am questioning your line of thinking concerning 1 persons opinion being an end all. I have watched several experts of a subject debate things back and forth in every venue of life.. Sports, politics, religion, philosophy, psychology, ect. ... Experts of each subject will debate things to no end. So why is Bob Chase the end all of hockey debates for you? Ever occur to you he may be dead wrong as well? Perhaps the many load voices in opposition to him are just as valued and possibly even more correct?

Guess things would be easier listening to the word of 1 person.. As opposed to having to think it out for yourself and weight out many different opinions..

Excuse? Some of us dont live our lives behind excuses, big guy.
Did you get some new high-water jeans and white sneakers for Christmas??

Komets, I couldnt agree with you more. I think Im one of a select few in the Fort who dont take Chase for the gospel. Time to go watch the news and read the Sentinel instead of forming my own opinions.

Hey, running, please do not take YOURSELF so seriously, you may hurt YOURSELF thinking so much about YOURSELF and your thoughts and comments. Funny thing though, I just do not see the stats and percentages you are talking about.
Chaulk in, LeGault out, sit PC, Lardner with an A, maybe a permanent A, Miro out, sit Guy.

I say the Komets talk Dave Hrechkosy out of retirement. He is the missing link.

Merry Christmas, everyone. I hope you had a safe and happy holiday. Got myself an awesome ladies cut Boston Bruins jersey. It has a warm, fuzzy lining and everything. :D Not marked with a players name and number though. That's okay because I don't know who I'd go with if it were. Chara? Lucic? Sequin? Maybe Thomas. Thomas has a great backstory.

We are hearing good things about a possible "AA" pro hockey revival in Flint. Mr. Kinney is trying, rumor has it; but havent heard a definite on which league. The CHL makes sense since he is still paying IHL dues for both PoHo and Flint. This is NOT an IHL3 rumor....

JR.........Everything that I read on this seems to me that this is a possible Flint team owned by Mr. Kinney that will be an "IHL team under the CHL Moniker" if it happens this next season...or it would be a possible IHL3 team if it is 2 seasons from now.

This has Hextall's fingerprints all over it when you read the Brendan Savage article.

I am seriously mixed on this one.

Might be good for Flint since they would get a legitimate owner for a change.

Might be bad for us since we seem to be sliding back into a league (IHL3) that might be a 6 team adventure once again where the Komets are the big dog, and there will be once again teams involved that would resemble the last few years where financial troubles and the soap opera of which team is owned by who and so on and so forth will be a topic once again.

I understand what alot will say, and I agree to some extent. Travel, financial sense, rivalries, Midwest League.....I agree with alot of that. But this time around, I only agree with this if it includes some teams that have strong Minor League Representation of the likes of maybe Toledo, Kalamazoo, Peoria, Cincy, etc.

I do not like any idea that puts teams in Markets that cannot support that team.

Hit, the difference is I dont think they get the lease in Flint if this team is going back to the IHL anytime soon. The people running Perani chose the NAHL over pro hockey for this reason, the IHL was/is/always will be unstable in its old form. Quad City isnt going anywhere...Bloomington isnt going anywhere...Evansville isnt going anywhere. The IHL is dead, period, IMO... Hextall can say whatever he wants to saying that this is an IHL deal... The way I see it is this is just another team to strenghten the North division in the CHL. Means we will add another team and not have to play Dayton 47 times next season...lol

Sun, 12/26/2010 - 3:14pm

I hear you....but I am not sold.

I think there is alot more to this IHL thing that we are giving credit to. I think there are some powers that be that want this IHL to continue come Heck or Highwater. Kinney might be one of them.

I don't think for one minute that the CHL would expand to Flint......but the IHL, yes. And the IHL could bring Flint in for one year in the CHL and then ultimately go back to the IHL.

I think that is what is going on here.

Perani ownership...that part to me is a joke. They brought in the NAHL.....wow!!! They are averaging 800 a game there, that includes the free tickets and promo tickets. Ummm, I hear that 200-300 is good for those games.

How well do you think Mr. Cain is doing in that venture???

If the IHL and Mr. Kinney made a deal tomorrow that said we want to bring Pro Hockey back to Perani and we have a marketing plan to do so, no matter what that plan is.....Cain signs that deal.

The out in the NAHL contract is the fact that the NAHL team in under-drawing in attendance what the Arena expectations were.

You can count on Flint.....I think you can count on IHL3.

Sun, 12/26/2010 - 3:28pm

The IHL3 with who? IMO:

Quad City = No
Bloomington = No
Evansville = No (I dont think they get new lease if not for being in CHL)
Dayto = maybe
Ft Wayne = Yes
Flint? = Yes?

Where are the 6-8 teams?

I think the only way a midwestern league reforms is if there is unprecedented cooperation from all the "AA" leagues... Thats the only way I can see a legitamite league forming in this geographic area again...

It's a Boston thing. I used to cheer for the Celtics when Bird was there too. I don't follow baseball, but if I did, I'd probably be a Red Sox girl. That and the Bruins really impressed me a couple of years ago towards the end of the regular season. I was cheering for their opponent going into a game and was a fan of theirs by the end of it. Then they choked in the playoffs. To the Hurricanes no less. :P What? You mean you don't like Lucic? Luuuuu!

Wendy

Come to think of it, they choked last year against your Philly Flyers, didn't they? Well that's just peachy. :S But ya gotta love those "Bear" commercials.
