No more Mr. Nice Guy

Oh, puh-leeze:

President Barack Obama, while returning to Washington from a vacation in Hawaii, said Monday he hopes Republican leaders Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and Rep. John Boehner of Ohio can put aside partisanship in the coming months to help lift the economy.

Obama was asked aboard Air Force One whether he expected to get a cold reception from Republicans who are set to vote on a repeal of his health law. "I think that there's gonna be politics, that's what happens in Washington," Obama said, according to pool reports of his trip. He added, "They are going to play to their base for a certain period of time."

The Republican-baiter-in-chief from the Chicago thug school of politics is calling for bipartisan civility from the other side? Is it too early to make nominations for most brazen political posturing of the year?

You have to give Obama credit for having brass ba**s.

"And so my expectation, my hope is that John Boehner and Mitch McConnell will realize that there will be plenty of time to campaign for 2012 in 2012."

This from the guy who has been campaigning non-stop since the day he took office, having spent 48% of his first two years in office actually in Washington D.C., the rest (52%) of his time has been bouncing around the world and the country bowing and mugging for cameras and writing trillion dollar checks we can't cover.

The phrase "unmitigated gall" comes to mind.
