Opening Arguments

Nobody loves a loser

Hang in there, Colts! Even though you lost the Super Bowl, we still love you! We are proud of you, and we can't wait to . . . Oh, never mind:

The end of the Indianapolis Colts' season came down to 11 people.

Not the 11 players on the field during the Super Bowl, but the 11 who showed up at Indianapolis International Airport on a cold, snowbound Monday afternoon, when the team returned following their 31-17 defeat Sunday by the New Orleans Saints at Super Bowl XLIV in Miami.

11 people! I'd give those faithful souls lifetime season passes. And this just in: Despite the fact that the Colts lost Super Bowl XLIV to the Saints 31-17, a betting Web site has already made them the early favorites for Super Bowl XLV (at 7-to-1, followed by San Diego at 8-to-1, New Orleans at 9-to-1 and New England at 10-to-1). We can start preparing for our bitter disappointment early! Hate to leave those things till the last minute.

I wonder if there would have been a much bigger turnout had the Colts had a perfect season? Lotta fans still stinging over the decisions of that Jets game.

Guys:
I've seen this all before...back in Philly.
Now THOSE (Eagles) fans will love you during the first quarter and will hate you by the third quarter (unless you win, then they "might" love you again...until next week).

Used to be a time when you stuck with a team through good AND bad (if you really were a "fan")...look at all the Saints fans...nice payoff for 42 years of sticking with them, don'cha think?

(Bet my late father is STILL cheering on Green Bay)

You gotta hand it to the Saints fans, they have the same kinda loyalty as Cubs fans!!!
