Speaking of which, did anyone catch the Detroit/Boston game this afternoon? I didn't know that Tim Thomas was from the Flint, MI area and bought his first goalie equipment in a combination pet store/hockey shop owned by Bob Perani. Great stuff.

I did watch that Wendy....and I did know that Thomas was indeed from the Flint area....didn't know he knew Perani. Also, even though I hate the Wings, Henrik Zetterburg is the best all around player in hockey today.

Hard to argue with that. But the Red Wings have several players that any team would love to have on their rosters. And they know what it takes to win when it counts.

Oh yeah? LOL....I've BEEN to Perani's outside of Detroit (Farmington Hills), spent a crapton of money on hockey equipment there....and I hate all the Red Wings and would never admit that any of them are any good. LOL....not out loud anyway...

So, the reason Apod is sitting is because Sims is afraid the Icemen might catch the Komets? Weird. Also, you say there is a reason that Apod was available at this point in the season? This is the guy that won those skills competitions everyone was talking about, right? I assumed the Komets got him because they get all the best available players at this level. So after all the hype, now we learn that he's actually not that good (yet, at least).

Oh, he's very good, but he's a rookie who is still learning to adjust to this level. He played Saturday night and guess who he split time with? Mirasty. Again, he's not going to beat out any of the existing forwards. Let's face it, the Komets need every point they can get so Sims is going to go with the people he trust who he's won with before. It's that simple.

Hey hockeypalooza, I believe it was Musselwhite, not Apod, that won the "skills" competitions you had posted about.
