Paul on gun patrol

Anytime there is a violent incident, the calls for more gun control come. The only difference is that this time, they're coming from former Mayor Paul Helmke:

"We need to realize that we can have 2nd Amendment rights.  We don't want to affect the average hunter or sportsman. We don't want to affect someone who's a collector.  If someone's got a legitimate need for a gun for self protection, that's not the problem. Instead, we push guns on our society, Congress goes along with it and the rest of us suffer because there are too many guns, too many bullets, too many kooks out there that use these things."

Don't we all have a "legitimate need for self-protection"?

Believe me, we all have a "legitimate need for self-protection" every time we step out our door. (and, lately with the increase in home invasions, when we stay home too, ...)

Yeah, if only those ten little Amish girls had been packing Uzis.

Typical knee-jerk blind liberal smart ass response Alex. I'm sure their families would get a kick out of your sense of humor.

Perhaps if a teacher or parent had been armed, it may have been different. But this nutjob knew that, he knew to pick on somebody who couldn't fight back.

All the gun control in the world won't stop tragedies like this.

Yes, Alex, and I suppose you would have also been upset if anyone in the Lube's in Killeen in '91 had been armed and could have stopped the nut who killed 24 people that day. That's what sparked the concealed carry law here - glad that won't happen again.

Now, Timothy, what did we say about projecting onto others??
